The Theme Campaign Week of the forty-seventh World Earth Day lasted from April 18th to 23rd. During the week, CSCLR, as a National Science Education Base, and Land & Resources Science Popularization Base, together with Henan Geological Museum, the National Geological Archives of China, Hydrogeological Environment Institute, CGS, Shanxi Geological Museum, and China University of Mining (Beijing), carried out thematic exhibitions of geological cores and samples, science popularization reports by academicians and experts, interactive questions and answers of geology for teenagers, and some other activities, by combining the cores and samples with science popularization and the theme of the World Earth Day.

This year, CSCLR concentrated on “Three Ones” activities: thematic exhibition, science popularization report and teenagers interactions with meticulous planning and careful organization. It innovated its old ways of science popularization, and for the first time cooperated with the National Geological Archives, Henan and Shanxi Geological Museum, and other 10 institutions for sharing the science popularization resources. It also collected theme display boards for the first time from Peking University, China University of Geosciences (Beijing), North China Institute of Science and Technology, and other surrounding institutes. The thematic activities of 47 World Earth Day was rich and full of innovations, and science audiences ranged from Yanjiao and Beijing to Shijiazhuang, Zhengzhou, Taiyuan and other potential places, which helped CSCLR fully play its demonstration role.
